Summit Elementary School

Location:
Casper, Wyoming
Total Project Cost:
$15 million
Size:
65,300 SF
A&P Role:
Design-Build

The design of this elementary school includes several innovative, non-traditional elements, many of which were suggested by the community. A&P worked closely with the two design teams to ensure the final design reflected the ideas of the community, remained true to the original design intent, and was also within the owner’s budget. The school is a showcase of renewable energy, including a 40-panel solar array that supplements the electrical system, and Wyoming’s first major geothermal heat exchange installation, a 48-well system that supplies all heating, cooling and hot water. Thanks to the extensive use of renewable energy, there was no need to run a gas line to the building.
