Salem Conference Center
Rushforth Construction, a subsidiary of A&P, built this three-story conference center and the adjacent hotel concurrently on a tight downtown site. These two projects required close communication and coordination since three separate owners were involved. Constructed of concrete and environmentally conscious structural steel, the conference center incorporates large timbers that create a dramatic Northwest feel. Its numerous sustainable elements include large expansive windows for natural daylight, extensive use of local recycled materials, and an operable curtain wall system to maximize natural light and cross ventilation. The 104,000-square-foot underground parking structure accommodates 280 vehicles for the hotel and conference center.
